Did you know there were two Pilates brothers? Everyone knows Joseph Pilates, he is the reason you are on this website. But Joe had a younger brother. And almost nobody talks about him.
Pilates for life isn't a slogan. It's Fred.
Fred Pilates was born in 1890. He trained alongside Joe, built his own studio, invented his own equipment, and spent his life teaching the same method with the same conviction quietly, in St. Louis, far from the spotlight his brother occupied in New York. In 1928, Fred placed an ad in a local newspaper. Four words.
Younger Than You Think.
